The Al Fardan Group has contributed AED 5 million to support the Mother of the Nation Endowment for Orphans, a national initiative launched by the Endowments and Minors’ Funds Authority – Awqaf Abu Dhabi under the patronage of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.
The initiative aims to establish a sustainable endowment fund dedicated to supporting orphan care across the UAE. It is part of broader efforts to strengthen social welfare systems and promote long-term community development in line with the country’s Year of Family initiatives.
The AED 5 million contribution from Al Fardan Group comes amid increasing support from the public and private sectors for the initiative. The program seeks to mobilize community participation while reinforcing the concept of waqf, or charitable endowment, as a sustainable model for social investment.
Under the initiative, contributions are converted into carefully managed investment assets. The returns generated from these investments are then directed toward programs that support orphans, including education, healthcare services, and essential living needs. This structure aims to ensure long-term financial stability while creating opportunities that help orphans develop and thrive.
Officials involved in the initiative emphasize that the Mother of the Nation Endowment for Orphans represents an advanced model of institutional philanthropy in the UAE. By transforming charitable contributions into long-term investment funds, the program seeks to create a lasting social impact that can benefit multiple generations.
The initiative also highlights the importance of collective responsibility in supporting vulnerable members of society. Empowering orphans and ensuring their well-being is seen as a shared duty among individuals, institutions, and the broader community.
Since its launch, the initiative has continued to attract growing participation from organizations and individuals across the UAE. Authorities say the expanding engagement reflects the country’s long-standing culture of generosity and solidarity, while strengthening the role of endowments as a key pillar of sustainable social development and humanitarian support.
Through contributions like that of Al Fardan Group, the program aims to build a stable and enduring financial base that will continue to support orphan welfare initiatives across the UAE for years to come.
