Adrien Brody won the Best Actor award at the Critics Choice Awards 2025 for his role in The Brutalist. He defeated other strong actors, including Daniel Craig (Queer), Timothée Chalamet (A Complete Unknown), Colman Domingo (Sing Sing), Hugh Grant (Heretic), and Ralph Fiennes (Conclave).

The Brutalist has been praised by many people and had already won Best Motion Picture Drama at the Golden Globes 2025. The award show happened on February 7, and Brody gave a heartfelt speech after receiving his award.
The 51-year-old actor said he had been acting since he was 12 years old and knew how rare such moments were in an actor’s life. He was very thankful for the opportunity and did not take it lightly.
In his speech, he thanked his cast, crew, and production team for believing in the movie. He also gave a special mention to his girlfriend, Georgina Chapman, calling her a strong support in his life. Lastly, he expressed deep gratitude to his parents.
"I have been acting since I was 12 years old. I know these moments don’t come often, so I don’t take this for granted," Brody said.
He continued, "I want to thank my amazing team and my co-actors who worked hard on this film. I am grateful to my parents, my beautiful girlfriend Georgina, and everyone who helped me on this journey. Thank you all!"
In The Brutalist, Brody plays László Tóth, a Jewish architect from Hungary who moves to the United States after surviving the Holocaust. The film, directed by Brady Corbet, had nine nominations at the Critics Choice Awards 2025, including Best Picture and Best Supporting Actor for Guy Pearce.
Brody’s win was a big moment for him and for the movie, which continues to receive praise for its storytelling and performances.
