Abu Dhabi's Modon Unveils Region's First Smog-Free Tower

In partnership with the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD), Modon Properties, based in the UAE, has announced the inauguration of the region's inaugural smog-free tower on Hudayriat Island.

This seven-meter tower, previously deployed in nations such as Poland, the Netherlands, and China, now marks its entry into the area. Aimed at enhancing air quality and promoting a cleaner future, the tower employs positive ionization technology to purify 30,000 cubic meters of air per hour.

EAD, in its ongoing efforts to improve Abu Dhabi's air quality, utilizes advanced monitoring systems for measuring pollutants. The newly unveiled tower is a pilot project, serving as an urban innovation to showcase the potential of cleaner and greener surroundings.

Attending the inauguration were prominent figures such as Razan Khalifa Al Mubarak, Managing Director of EAD, and Abdulla Al Sahi, Managing Director of Modon Properties. The tower's positive impact on outdoor spaces, particularly on Hudayriat Island, was emphasized, providing residents with a smog-free environment and encouraging outdoor activities.

Mohamed Ahmed Al Bowardi, Vice Chairman of EAD's Executive Committee, highlighted the commitment to air quality improvement, considering the smog-free tower as an innovative solution aligned with strategic priorities. Plans for evaluating the pilot project's success and potential expansion to other areas in Abu Dhabi were also mentioned.

Bill O’Regan, CEO of Modon Properties, emphasized the integration of sustainable practices, aligning with the theme of sustainability in 2023. The smog-free tower on Hudayriat Island is seen as a significant contribution to creating a healthier environment, particularly around world-class sports and leisure facilities.
