The 6th ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon will happen on 14 December 2024. More than 33,000 runners are expected to join the race. This includes professional athletes, elite runners from other countries, and local community members. The event is organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and ADNOC. It is the biggest sports gathering on Abu Dhabi Corniche and encourages health, sports, and fitness for everyone.

The full marathon is 42.195km and will start at 6 am from ADNOC Headquarters on Corniche Road. Runners will pass by famous landmarks like Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Al Bateen Palace, Qasr Al Hosn, and the World Trade Centre. The race will finish at the ADNOC Campus near Baynunah Public Park.
There will also be shorter races on the same day. The 10km race will begin at 6:30 am, the 2.5km race at 8:45 am, and the 5km race at 9:30 am. These shorter events aim to motivate people to exercise and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
The total prize money for the entire event is more than US$300,000. The winners of the male and female elite categories will each win US$50,000. Winners in the Wheelchair Marathon will share US$3,150 in cash for both men and women. Also, the top three winners in the 10km Wheelchair races will receive cash prizes.
The ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon Sports Village will be open from 4 am to 2 pm on race day. It will have fitness and yoga classes, live music, children's games, sponsor booths, and many fun activities for visitors.
Several companies are sponsoring this event, including ADNOC, Nike, Tadweer, Daman, Burjeel Medical City, Al Ain Water, and others. They are supporting this marathon to make it a great event for everyone.
At a press conference on 12 December 2024, His Excellency Aref Hamad Al Awani from Abu Dhabi Sports Council spoke about the importance of the partnership with ADNOC. He said that the marathon shows the UAE’s values of happiness, sports, and unity. He thanked all the sponsors and elite runners taking part in this important event.
His Excellency said, “We extend special thanks to the elite runners present with us today for their efforts and inspiration for future generations.”
Yaser Saeed Al Mazrouei from ADNOC also spoke during the conference. He said, “This year’s ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon promises to be a spectacular celebration of community, fitness, and resilience, and we look forward to welcoming participants and their friends and families to an unforgettable race day.”
The marathon is expected to bring the community together, inspire health and fitness, and give participants a memorable experience.
