More than 250 people flying from London to Mumbai are stuck at an airport in Turkey for more than 40 hours. Their flight, run by Virgin Atlantic, had to stop suddenly in Diyarbakir, Turkey, on April 2 because someone on the plane needed urgent medical help. After landing, the plane had a problem and could not fly again. The plane is still being checked by the team there.

A person from the airline said that the safety of all people on the plane is the most important thing for them. They are sorry for the trouble. If they get the needed permission from the airport and engineers, the flight will fly again from Diyarbakir to Mumbai at 12 PM on Friday, April 4.
If they don’t get the permission, the airline said they will take the passengers by bus to another airport in Turkey. From there, they will fly to Mumbai in another airplane.
Until then, the airline is giving hotel rooms and food to all the passengers in Turkey. But still, many passengers are upset. Some of them and their family members have posted messages on the internet about problems they are facing. Some said there was only one toilet for over 300 people at the airport. One person told a reporter that they didn’t get warm blankets even though the weather was cold. Some pictures from the airport showed people lying on chairs, looking tired and worried.
The airline has said again that the people are staying in hotels now and they are trying their best to fix the problem. They promised to keep giving updates.
This long delay has made many people worried. The airline says they are doing everything to make sure everyone gets to Mumbai safely and soon.
