The quest for the elusive Golden Owl, a treasure hunt that spanned 31 years, has finally come to an end. On Thursday, the official social media account for the hunt confirmed that the sought-after token, required to claim the prize, had been found.

“Do not keep digging! We confirm that the replica of the golden owl was unearthed last night, and a solution was simultaneously submitted,” stated the treasure hunt's official chatline on Discord.

The Golden Owl, buried somewhere in France, has intrigued and captivated enthusiasts since the hunt's inception. However, the identity of the individual who discovered the token has yet to be disclosed.

Dubbed “On the Trail of the Golden Owl,” this treasure search attracted tens of thousands of participants from around the globe, all vying to locate a statue crafted from gold, silver, and adorned with diamonds. The estimated value of the treasure is around $165,000, according to reports from Newsweek.

The origins of the treasure hunt can be traced back to a book by Régis Hauser, who was instrumental in the quest by burying the statue. Successfully solving these challenges would lead to a token revealing the location of the grand prize.
