Her Highness Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa, who is the President and CEO of the UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators (UICCA), attended a special meeting called the UICCA Forum: 25 to 2050. This event brought together important people, including government officials, business experts, and people who work to protect the environment. They all gathered to talk about how the UAE can reduce pollution and fight climate change over the next 25 years.

During the meeting, everyone discussed how the UAE is trying to reach "net zero" by the year 2050. This means the country wants to cut down pollution as much as possible and balance out any remaining pollution by using clean energy and other methods. The group talked about what needs to be done to achieve this goal and what steps should be taken in the coming years.

Sheikha Shamma gave an important speech where she spoke about the UAE’s strong commitment to protecting the environment. She explained that the country is working hard to use new ideas, share knowledge, and build a greener economy. She also warned that the world is facing a big problem with climate change, as temperatures are rising, and pollution levels are increasing, especially in growing countries. She said that the next 25 years are very important because the actions taken now will decide what happens to the planet in the future.

She also talked about how UICCA has been working since 2022. She explained that the organization works in three main ways: giving advice, helping new ideas grow, and creating partnerships. These three areas help bring people together, break barriers, and encourage teamwork to fight climate change. She said it is very important that everyone gets involved, and she encouraged people to use science, technology, and teamwork to find better solutions for a cleaner world.

Sheikha Shamma said that reaching net zero is not just about improving machines or making new rules. It is about making sure that all people and businesses work together with the same goal in mind. She said that the choices made today will decide how soon the world can achieve net zero and protect the environment for future generations. She also said that the UICCA Forum is a place where important talks happen, helping leaders make smart decisions and work together.

During the event, two big reports were introduced to help people understand climate change better. The first was the Climate Migration Research Report, which explains how changes in weather and climate are forcing people to move from their homes. This report gives useful information and ideas on how to help communities deal with these changes and prepare for the future.

The second report was the updated version of the UICCA Climate Change Glossary. This is a book that explains over 400 climate-related words in both English and Arabic. It helps people, including government workers, journalists, and business leaders, understand important climate terms. This glossary was made with the help of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center (ALC). The goal is to make sure that everyone is using the right words when talking about climate change.

Both the Climate Migration Research Report and the Climate Change Glossary can now be downloaded from the UICCA website at uicca.ae. These reports will help people make better choices to protect the environment and prepare for a cleaner future.
