UAE Health Center Fined Dh1 Million; Doctors Probed for Fraud

Abu Dhabi's Department of Health (DoH) has levied a substantial fine of Dh1 million against a health center in the emirate, initiating investigations into several doctors for suspected fraudulent activities. The center faces strict consequences, with the prohibition of dental services across all branches, stemming from alleged efforts to misappropriate public funds.

In a comprehensive crackdown, the health department has undertaken decisive measures against multiple healthcare facilities found in violation of the emirate's healthcare laws, regulations, and policies. Eight healthcare facilities have been shut down following extensive inspections, including an occupational medicine center, a laboratory, and a medical center, all found to be in breach of laws related to the prevention of infectious diseases.

Additionally, four home care facilities faced closure due to non-compliance with DoH standards and regulations governing home care services. A dental clinic also met the same fate due to various violations, such as employing unlicensed healthcare professionals and neglecting sterilization protocols.

The list of violations committed by these centers is extensive, including failure to report infectious diseases, non-compliance with electronic reporting regulations, neglecting emergency care provisions, failure to prevent infections, inadequate safeguarding of medical records, and non-adherence to home care service standards.

DoH emphasizes the importance of compliance with its policies and regulations for all healthcare facilities operating in the emirate. This call aims to preserve the efficiency of the healthcare system in Abu Dhabi, ensure the health and safety of the community, and sustain the provision of healthcare services in alignment with international best practices. The crackdown underscores the commitment to upholding high standards and integrity within the healthcare sector to safeguard public health
