Trump: $20M raised in February, $42M cash total, lags far behind Joe Biden's haul

Former US President Donald Trump’s campaign and joint fundraising committee collectively raised $20.3 million in February, entering March with a combined $41.9 million cash on hand, as per a Trump campaign official report.

These figures, while marking a significant increase from previous months, fall short of the $53 million announced by President Joe Biden and Democrats for February. Biden’s team and affiliated committees also boasted a staggering $155 million in available cash.

In January, Trump's campaign alone garnered $8.8 million, with the joint fundraising committee contributing to a total haul of just under $14 million. Details of the joint fundraising committee’s contributions and spending are expected to be reported next month.

Nearly $11 million of the combined fundraising went to Trump’s campaign committee, leaving it with $33.5 million in available cash at the end of February.

Trump's fundraising efforts have been intensifying, with an upcoming Oct 30 fundraiser in Palm Beach, Florida, set to be attended by some of the GOP’s richest donors. However, Trump's team remains behind Biden's financial capability.

Trump's aides remain focused on fundraising for Biden as well, emphasizing Trump’s continued status as the apparent nominee until Biden’s efforts are shown. The Republican National Committee still had about $15.3 million in available cash by the end of February, which Trump used to campaign against Biden.

Trump's appointment of his supporters Michael Whatley and Lara Trump as RNC Chairman and co-chair, respectively, signals his continued involvement in the party's fundraising efforts.

Despite growing interest in Trump's campaign, his overall debt to the state at the end of Wednesday was reported to be more than $457 million.
