This year, the award was given to hardworking employees in different groups. Aisha Al Mazmi (Administrator) and Ahmed Mohammed (Technician) won in the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority category. Sheikha Ahmed Al Ketbi won in the Al Sharqiya Channel category, while Mahmoud Abdulqader Saleh was honoured from Al Wusta Channel in Al Dhaid. The managers of the winners were also appreciated for their support.
The event started with a speech by Salem Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of SBA. He thanked His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi for attending and personally giving the awards. He said this yearly event is important because it encourages workers who give their best efforts to the Authority.
Al Ghaithi also shared changes in the voting system for the award. Now, the final selection of winners depends 30% on the jury’s review and 70% on votes from employees, which are cast on the event day.
He spoke about how the award helps motivate workers. He said the success of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority is because of its hardworking and talented employees. He explained that the "Thank You" Award is more than just a prize; it is a way to show respect and gratitude to employees who work with passion and creativity.
During the event, guests watched a special video about the journey of SBA. It showed how the Authority has grown and improved over the past 36 years. Another video explained more about the "Thank You" Award, with SBA workers sharing their thoughts on how the award inspires them to do better in their jobs. Guests also enjoyed a live performance with light and music.
His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi also visited an exhibition that displayed the talents of SBA employees. This exhibition was part of the event to support employees in exploring their hobbies. It featured creative works like handmade crafts, paintings, electronic projects, and photography. His Highness walked through the exhibition, talked to participants, and learned about their work.
The "Thank You" Award was started nine years ago to honour hardworking SBA employees. It aims to encourage creativity, improve work, and create a positive workplace. The award also helps teamwork and cooperation between SBA and other media-related government groups.
By celebrating employees who show dedication and creativity, the award helps SBA to grow stronger. It motivates employees to work better and think of new ideas to improve media services.
The ceremony was attended by several top officials, including Mohamed Hassan Khalaf, Director General of SBA, Hassan Yaqoub Al Mansouri, Secretary General of the Sharjah Media Council, Salem Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of SBA, as well as channel and radio station directors and many employees.
