Sheikh Sultan allocates Dh2.5 million for Sharjah Library books.

His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has allocated Dh2.5 million for purchasing the latest titles from participating publishers and bookstalls at the ongoing Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival (SCRF) for the Sharjah Public Library.

This annual grant, awarded to the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) event, aligns with Sheikh Sultan's vision to support the regional and global book industries. It aims to enhance Sharjah's offerings to readers, students, researchers, academics, and knowledge seekers across the UAE.

Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of SBA, emphasized the significance of this generous grant. She highlighted its role in supporting publishers commercially while benefiting educationally the knowledge seekers in Sharjah and the wider UAE. The initiative underscores Sharjah's commitment to fostering an appreciation for books, knowledge, and learning, especially among the younger generations.

Sheikha Bodour further stressed the importance of providing ample sources of learning and intellectual development, particularly for children, as fundamental to Sharjah's developmental vision.
