Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City First in Abu Dhabi to Receive JCI Accreditation

Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC), part of PureHealth, is the first hospital in Abu Dhabi and the first medical center in the UAE to earn the Gold Seal of Approval from Joint Commission International (JCI) in the Academic Medical Centre Accreditation program.

JCI sets strong rules for hospital care, safety, and quality. SSMC received this award after going through a detailed check. The hospital’s teams in Medical Education, Clinical Research, and Quality Improvement worked hard to meet JCI’s high standards.

SSMC earned this award for its great work in several areas. The hospital does an excellent job training doctors and staff, using the latest technology, and working with top universities to improve learning. The Clinical Research team ensures that all research is done safely and correctly.
