Sheikh Abdullah emphasizes the importance of developing strong Arabic skills at a young age

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, has emphasized the critical necessity of nurturing Arabic language proficiency among young students, as reported by the state news agency. His remarks were made during an online session of the Education and Human Resources Council, which he chairs.

During the session, Sheikh Abdullah underscored the urgent need to intensify efforts aimed at significantly enhancing students' academic performance and improving the effectiveness of teaching staff. He particularly highlighted the pivotal role of fostering strong Arabic language skills, emphasizing that they not only bolster national identity but also serve as a foundation for mastering fundamental subjects such as mathematics and English, which are essential for future professional success.

Furthermore, Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the importance of transparency and clarity in presenting a comprehensive overview of student learning outcomes. He stressed that the UAE's future trajectory relies on cultivating a knowledgeable and skilled generation empowered with integrity.

In alignment with this vision, Ahmed Al Falasi, the Minister of Education, discussed a proposal to introduce an Arabic language assessment for first-grade pupils in both public and private schools. This initiative is slated for implementation in the upcoming academic year.

Additionally, Sarah Al Amiri, the Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology, who also chairs the board of directors at the Emirates Schools Establishment, addressed several instances of misconduct during the exam period. According to reports, there were 247 reported breaches, including the leakage of exam answers, along with 802 cases of cheating. Such incidents underscore the ongoing challenges in maintaining academic integrity and the necessity for concerted efforts to uphold educational standards.
