Themed “Where the Story Begins,” the festival runs from February 13 to 17 at the Sharjah Old Cars Club (SOCC) headquarters. Visitors can enjoy a special experience that blends history, entertainment, and learning all in one place.
A Stunning Display of Classic Cars
This year, the festival proudly showcases more than 400 rare classic cars, some dating back to the early 1900s. These cars highlight the event’s importance as one of the most unique gatherings in the region. The program includes expert discussion panels, fun activities, interactive competitions, and dedicated food and beverage areas. An exclusive auction is also part of the event, giving collectors a chance to bid on rare models and potentially own a piece of automotive history.
Five Days of Excitement
The five-day festival was officially inaugurated by Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Statistics and Community Development in Sharjah. He was joined by several prominent figures, including Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director General of the Sharjah Digital Authority; Sheikh Salem bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority; His Excellency Ali Salem Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah International Airport Authority; and Dr. Ali Ahmed Abu Al-Zoud, President of SOCC.
The opening ceremony included a guided tour of the festival grounds, where attendees admired many exceptional classic cars. Among the highlights were two historically significant Range Rovers from 1988. One belonged to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and the other to the late Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. These vehicles add a historical touch to the festival, reminding visitors of the country’s rich heritage.
Classic Cars: Passion or Business?
On the first day of the event, a panel discussion titled “Passion or Business? The Art of Collecting Classic Cars” attracted significant attention. The session featured Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, Mohammed Bin Dakhin Al Matroushi, and Salem Bin Salem Al Suwaidi.
The panel explored the different reasons people collect classic cars. Some do it for the love of cars, while others see it as a smart investment. The experts discussed the factors to consider when choosing a classic car and shared tips on how enthusiasts can turn their passion into a profitable business. They emphasized that collecting cars isn’t just for the wealthy. Anyone with genuine interest can enter the world of classic cars with proper knowledge and planning.
The discussion also covered important topics like how to accurately determine a car’s value and the best strategies for investing in the classic car market.
A Festival for Everyone
The Sharjah Classic Cars Festival 2025 offers something for everyone. Whether visitors are car enthusiasts or just curious about the past, the event provides a wonderful opportunity to step back in time and learn about the evolution of automobiles.
