The agreement, which seeks to open new opportunities for both parties, aims to foster co-operation in industrial growth and trade between Ras Al Khaimah and the UK, facilitating the exchange of goods and services in both directions. As part of the deal, the partners also plan to delve into additional collaborative ventures in areas such as education, culture, and heritage, all while strengthening existing ties.

Sheikh Khalid bin Saud Al Qasimi expressed his enthusiasm for the agreement, stating, “Today marks a significant milestone in Ras Al Khaimah’s ongoing commitment to fostering robust international partnerships that drive economic growth and innovation. The signing of this growth partnership agreement with the UK Government’s Department of Business and Trade will enhance trade relations and open the door to collaborate in other fields. These multifaceted exchanges will not only benefit our economies but also enrich our communities by promoting shared knowledge and cultural understanding.”

He further emphasized that the agreement supports Ras Al Khaimah’s long-term vision for a prosperous future and highlighted the opportunities it offers for both sides to create sustainable growth, leveraging each other’s strengths.

Jonathan Reynolds MP also commented on the deal, noting, “It is an honor to witness the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the United Kingdom and the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. This agreement will pave the way for significant industrial cooperation, building on our deep and historic relationship with the UAE. This agreement is testament to the wealth of opportunities for British businesses in the Northern Emirates across every sector and underlines our joint commitment to economic growth for UK and Ras Al Khaimah businesses alike.”

The growth partnership agreement outlines several key areas for potential collaboration. It highlights opportunities to work closely in sectors such as investment, education, culture, and heritage, with a specific emphasis on trade. The agreement also seeks to explore the creation of a joint business incubator in Ras Al Khaimah, offering UK companies a platform to expand into the UAE and the wider Middle East markets.

Additionally, the agreement sets forth aspirations to collaborate on major development projects within the emirate. There are also plans to establish dialogue on pressing issues such as food security, agricultural strategies, and cooperation on cultural and artistic endeavors, including Ras Al Khaimah's participation in UK roadshows.

The mutual goal of the agreement is to foster a comprehensive, dynamic partnership that will fuel economic growth, open new trade avenues, and drive innovation and collaboration across sectors of importance to both Ras Al Khaimah and the UK.

This agreement comes at a time of growing strategic importance for Ras Al Khaimah as a key economic hub within the UAE, as well as for the UK, which continues to seek deeper economic ties in the Middle East.
