PIA plans to restart Dubai-Skardu flights.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced the resumption of its seasonal flights between Dubai and Skardu, a breathtaking snow-capped valley in Pakistan, starting April 29.

Initially launched on August 14 last year, the flight was suspended during the winter season due to harsh weather conditions in Skardu.

Zeeshan Ahmed, PIA's Regional Manager in Dubai, confirmed the restart of the seasonal direct flight operation on the Dubai-Skardu route, commencing April 19. The Skardu-Dubai flight will resume on April 29, followed by the Dubai-Skardu flight on May 3. Flights will be available once a week on Fridays from Dubai.

This new flight connection not only benefits Pakistani expatriates but also opens up opportunities for over 200 nationalities residing in the UAE to explore the untouched beauty of Skardu and Gilgit Baltistan, situated approximately 570km north of Islamabad.

Ahmed emphasized that the new flight aligns with the national airline's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy, aiming to facilitate travel for Gilgit Baltistan residents and boost tourism in Pakistan.

Highlighting PIA's commitment to providing top-notch services to Pakistanis and foreign tourists, Ahmed noted that launching new flights on unconventional routes enhances accessibility. The flight presents UAE residents with an excellent chance to explore the stunning valleys and mountains of Gilgit-Baltistan during the summer break.

Passengers departing from Dubai can reach Skardu's scenic valleys, the cold desert, and even the mighty K-2, all within a three-hour flight, a stark contrast to the over 20-hour road journey through the mountains on the historic Karakoram Highway from Islamabad.

Gilgit-Baltistan experiences an average summer temperature below 20°C, while heavy snow covers the region in winter. Engaging in a desert safari amidst the sand dunes of the cold desert in Skardu, surrounded by snowy mountains and rocky landscapes, promises an unforgettable experience.
