Held at the Sindh CM House in Karachi, the meeting focused on revitalizing the economy through trade talks with India.

Despite acknowledging the Prime Minister's efforts to tackle economic challenges, industry leaders emphasized the need for political stability to facilitate economic growth. They highlighted the difficulties of conducting business amidst high energy costs and inconsistent government policies.

During the hour-long meeting, business leaders appreciated recent government actions but expressed reservations about the current business environment. They proposed various economic policies and called for increased dialogue between the government and business community.

A recurring theme throughout the session was the concern over political instability. Business leaders advised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to take proactive steps as the head of government to address this issue.

Arif Habib, Chief of Arif Habib Group, commended the progress on the IMF deal but urged the Prime Minister to pursue further initiatives, including trade talks with India. He also suggested resolving political tensions, alluding to jailed PTI leader Imran Khan.

The deteriorating relationship between India and Pakistan, particularly after the abrogation of Article 370 in Kashmir, was discussed. Despite strained ties, business leaders emphasized the economic benefits of resuming trade with India.

In response to questions about political stability, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized his commitment to economic growth. He assured the business community of his willingness to address their concerns and promised to convene further discussions in Islamabad.

Additionally, Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the potential for economic growth, drawing parallels with Bangladesh's success story. He emphasized the importance of industrial and agricultural development and pledged to work closely with the business community to achieve these goals.

Overall, the meeting underscored the importance of political stability and economic revitalization in Pakistan. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's engagement with business leaders signals a concerted effort to address these challenges and drive sustainable economic growth.
