Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Women’s Race took place at Al Marmoom Conservation Reserve. The race marked the grand finale of the ninth edition of the Al Salam Cycling Championship.

The championship, organized by the Private Office of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai, has become the largest community cycling event in the world, with an impressive range of participants and valuable prizes. The event was led by His Excellency Omar bin Jumaa Al-Falasi, Director-General of the Private Office of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai.

The Women’s Race featured two categories and both races started from the same location in Al Marmoom. The first race, which was 107 km long, was for Emirati female cyclists, while the second race, an elite category, covered a 136 km route and included competitors from the UAE and other Gulf countries. The race was supported by Al Tayer Motors, and the participants showcased strong performances throughout the event.

The Al Marmoom Conservation Reserve, where the race was held, is the largest natural reserve in the UAE and plays a key role in wildlife conservation. It is home to Arabian oryx and many bird species. The reserve’s 40-hectare landscape with lakes and greenery provided a beautiful backdrop for the event.

The race also emphasized diversity and inclusivity, attracting both professional and amateur cyclists from various backgrounds.

The event also played a role in empowering female athletes and encouraging their participation in competitive cycling. His Excellency Al-Falasi praised the strong performances of the female athletes and highlighted how sports foster physical strength and community well-being.

In the Emirati Women’s Race category, Sheikha Madiya Bint Hasher Al Maktoum from the MyWhoosh team took first place. She was followed by her teammates Ayesha Foolad and Mouza Al Ghafil, who secured second and third positions respectively. MyWhoosh claimed first place in the team rankings, followed by Dubai Police Cycling in second and Airwick Racing in third. Sheikha Madiya also won the 40+ age category.

In the elite category, Nora Jencusova from the Dubai Police Cycling – Positive Spirit team finished in first place, followed by Cristina Tonetti from the Dubai Police – Essad team in second, and Olha Shkel from the Dubai Police Cycling team in third. In the team rankings, Dubai Police – Positive Spirit finished first, Dubai Police – Esaad came second, and Dubai Police secured third place. The prizes for the best photographs included AED 12,000 for first place, AED 8,000 for second, and AED 5,000 for third.
