Blake Lively, a famous actress, recently made when she sued her co-star Justin Baldoni from It Ends With Us. She accused him of sexual harassment, unwanted kissing, and changing intimate scenes in the movie without her permission. Blake also said that Justin tried to ruin her reputation with a smear campaign.
Kate Beckinsale, another well-known actress, is supporting Blake Lively. Kate shared her own experiences of being harassed and mistreated in Hollywood. On Instagram, Kate told a story about how she spoke up about a co-star who was drunk and not ready for filming. Instead of helping her, the studio gave her a bike to pass the time. Because she complained, she was called terrible names like “c***” and “b***h” on walkie-talkies and in person.

Kate also shared a time when she was hurt during a movie fight scene. Even though doctors proved she was hurt, she was made to feel like it was her fault. She was left out of dinners and ignored by the cast. Kate also remembered how, after having a miscarriage, a publicist forced her to do a photoshoot. When Kate said she couldn’t because she was bleeding, the publicist told her she had to or she would be sued.
Kate also spoke about when she was younger, at 18, and was touched inappropriately by someone she trusted. She said that when she went to the lead actress and another actress for help, they told her it didn’t happen.
Kate said that when women complain about being harassed, they are often ignored or blamed. She explained how women are supposed to just accept this treatment. She thanked Blake Lively for speaking up and said that these problems are still happening in Hollywood today.
Kate finished by saying that when women speak out, they should be supported, not hurt. She hopes that more women will speak up and that things in Hollywood will change for the better.
