Japanese Ambassador: Indian students need only student ID for Japan visa.

The Japanese Ambassador to India, Hiroshi F Suzuki, has extended a warm invitation to Indian students, urging them to explore educational opportunities in Japan. In an interview with YouTuber Mayo San, Suzuki highlighted the simplicity of acquiring a student visa for Japan – just present a student ID card.

Suzuki emphasized the streamlined visa process, abundant skill development programs, and promising job prospects for Indian aspirants in Japan. Specifically addressing the youth, he encouraged them to consider studying and working in the 'land of the rising sun.' Suzuki assured students that obtaining a visa is remarkably straightforward, requiring only the presentation of a student ID.

Furthermore, Suzuki shared a significant development in visa regulations for Indian students. Within three years of graduating from Indian universities, students can now submit certificates of student status or graduation instead of documenting financial capability when applying for a single-entry visa for short-term stays with tourism as the purpose. This adjustment aims to enhance people-to-people exchanges with India, particularly focusing on increasing the number of young visitors.

Expressing optimism about the growing influx of Indian individuals for study and work, Suzuki foresees a positive trajectory in the relationship between the two nations. On a lighter note, he delved into his culinary experiences in India, describing Indian food as a 'culture shock.' Suzuki humorously admitted to finding it spicy enough to bring tears to his eyes but expressed his desire to continue savoring the tasty cuisine. He shared insights into his favorite Indian dishes, recounting a memorable experience with Misal Pav in Pune and humorously narrating a spicy challenge he undertook with his wife.

Reflecting on his fondness for India, Suzuki revealed his cherished destinations, including the majestic Ranthambore National Park in Rajasthan and the serene ambiance of Darjeeling. When asked about the striking differences between Japan and India, Suzuki pointed out language as a significant contrast, marveling at India's diverse linguistic landscape and likening each state to a distinct country with its own unique identity.
