As the one-year anniversary of the Hamas-led militant attacks approaches, Israel's military has reported extensive operations in the Gaza Strip over the past year. According to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), more than 40,000 targets have been bombed in the region, including significant military infrastructure such as 4,700 tunnel shafts and around 1,000 rocket launcher sites.
On October 7, 2023, Hamas launched a surprise attack on southern Israel, resulting in the deaths of approximately 1,200 people and the abduction of around 250 individuals, with over 100 hostages still being held. In response, Israel initiated a comprehensive military campaign in Gaza.
The Israeli military has tallied the losses suffered by its forces during this conflict, reporting that 726 Israeli soldiers have been killed since the onset of hostilities. Among these, 380 soldiers died during the initial attacks on October 7, while 346 were killed in combat operations that began on October 27, 2023. Additionally, 4,576 soldiers have sustained injuries, and 56 have died due to operational accidents, though specifics regarding these incidents were not disclosed.

To bolster its military efforts, Israel has called up approximately 300,000 reservists since the war commenced, comprising 82% men and 18% women. Nearly half of these reservists are aged between 20 and 29.
In terms of rocket fire, the IDF reports that since the conflict began, 13,200 rockets have been launched from Gaza into Israeli territory. Further complicating the situation, 12,400 rockets were fired from Lebanon, alongside smaller numbers from Syria (60), Yemen (180), and Iran (400).
Israel's military operations have extended beyond Gaza, claiming to have killed over 800 "terrorists" in Lebanon. In this context, approximately 4,900 airstrikes have targeted locations in Lebanon, along with about 6,000 ground operations. In the West Bank and Jordan Valley, more than 5,000 suspects have been arrested over the past year.
The military campaign has also reportedly eliminated eight brigade commanders from Hamas in Gaza, along with about 30 battalion commanders and 165 company commanders.
According to Gaza's health ministry, the Israeli assault has resulted in nearly 42,000 Palestinian deaths, highlighting the devastating human toll of the conflict.
This ongoing conflict remains a complex and tragic situation, marked by high casualties on both sides and continuing tensions in the region.
