IndiGo Passenger Alleges Screw in In-Flight Sandwich

(Photo: Reddit)

During a Bengaluru to Chennai flight with IndiGo, a passenger discovered a screw in his sandwich, as shared in a Reddit post by user @MacaroonIll3601 on the 'Bangalore' subreddit. The incident, which occurred on 01/02/24, was accompanied by images showing the screw embedded in a spinach and corn sandwich. The post detailed the traveler's unsettling experience and the lack of a satisfactory response from IndiGo staff when seeking an apology.

The passenger's caption in the Reddit post highlighted the incident: "While traveling in Indigo recently on 01/02/24 from BNG to Chennai I got a screw in my sandwich. When I urged for an apology from the airlines end they came back with a response that since I consumed it post flight it couldn’t be found legible!"

This incident adds to a concerning trend of foreign objects, ranging from insects to metal screws, being found in meals served by airlines, raising questions about the reliability of onboard food options. The Reddit post quickly gained traction, emphasizing the need for stricter quality control measures in airline catering services.

The incident serves as a reminder for passengers to exercise caution and thoroughly inspect their in-flight meals. The growing instances of foreign objects in airline food underscore the importance of enhancing quality checks to ensure the safety and satisfaction of air travelers
