HIA issues advisory to ensure smooth airport experience for arrivals

Hamad International Airport (HIA) in Doha is expecting more passengers arriving between January 2 and 5, 2025. To make the experience easier for passengers, the airport has given helpful tips.

If you’re carrying fragile items, make sure to pack them in the center of hard-shell bags to keep them safe. When you reach the baggage area, you can use QR codes to find your baggage belt, and the flight information screens will also help guide you.

If you have big items like wheelchairs or child seats, these will be delivered to belts A and B separately. Keep your baggage tags until you leave the baggage area, and check them before you pick up your bag.

For pick-ups, make sure not to leave your car unattended at the curbside to avoid causing traffic or security issues. If you need to stay longer, you can use the short-term parking lot, which you can book in advance.

For those parking for a longer time, the airport offers special rates for the short-term parking, which can be booked ahead of time on their website.
Hamad International also has many transport options. Taxis can be found at the taxi pavilions near the arrival hall. You can book a taxi through the "Karwa Taxi" app for a quick ride to the city. The taxis will be waiting in the outer lane.

The Doha Metro station is just a short walk from the airport. It connects to many places in the city. The metro runs from 5 am to 1 am from Saturday to Thursday, and from 9 am to 1 am on Fridays. You can find more details on the Qatar Rail website.
If you want to rent a car, there are over 20 rental services close to the arrival hall.
