Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have made their batting team very strong for IPL 2025. They already had players like Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen, and Abhishek Sharma. Now, they have added Ishan Kishan to their team, making their batting lineup even better. Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra said that this batting team is one of SRH’s biggest strengths. He believes that SRH will keep playing the same attacking style of cricket as last year.
Before the IPL 2025 mega auction, SRH kept some of their top players, including their captain Pat Cummins, Travis Head, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Heinrich Klaasen. During the auction, SRH bought Ishan Kishan for ₹11.25 crore. Aakash Chopra talked about their batting on his YouTube channel and said, “SRH’s strength is their aggressive batting. They start hitting and keep hitting without stopping.”
Chopra also said that SRH has fixed the problems they had in the middle of their batting lineup. Earlier, players like Rahul Tripathi or Mayank Agarwal didn’t perform as expected sometimes. But now, SRH has a well-balanced team. Chopra said, “Their first three batters – Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, and Ishan Kishan – are all left-handers and excellent stroke makers. They know how to do their job perfectly.”

He also mentioned that SRH’s batting order has great depth. After the top three, they have powerful players like Heinrich Klaasen, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Abhinav Manohar. With such a strong lineup, Chopra believes SRH can continue playing high-scoring cricket, just like they did in IPL 2024.
Last season, SRH’s batting performances were amazing. They set new records for the highest score in an IPL match. Against Mumbai Indians, they scored 277/3 in Hyderabad, breaking Royal Challengers Bangalore’s old record of 263/5. Later, they broke their record by scoring 287 against RCB at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. In that match, Travis Head hit a brilliant 102 runs from just 41 balls and won the Player of the Match award. Just a few days later, SRH scored 266 against Delhi Capitals, showing their incredible form with the bat.
These great performances helped SRH reach the IPL 2024 final. However, they couldn’t win the trophy. In the final match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, SRH couldn’t play as well as before and lost the match by eight wickets. KKR became the champions, and SRH finished as runners-up.
For IPL 2025, SRH has built a very strong team with some of the best batters. Their aggressive style and well-balanced team make them one of the most dangerous sides in the tournament. Aakash Chopra believes SRH’s depth in batting and powerful players will make them a big challenge for every other team this season.
