The inaugural 'India by the Creek' festival is poised to captivate audiences with its celebration of the enduring cultural ties between India and Dubai. Scheduled to unfold at Al Seef Park in Dubai from March 8-10, this event is a testament to the deep-rooted historical connections shared by the two nations. Organized by Dubai Duty Free in collaboration with the Consulate General of India, Dubai, and Teamwork Arts, with support from Dubai Economy, Tourism, and Khaleej Times, the festival marks a significant milestone in cultural exchange.

Satish Kumar Sivan, the Consul General of India in Dubai, expressed enthusiasm for the festival's inception, emphasizing its role in showcasing the rich cultural heritage shared by the UAE and India. He highlighted the festival's focus on values such as culture, diversity, and tolerance, which underpin the strong bond between the two countries. Sivan envisioned 'India by the Creek' as a platform for nurturing this special relationship through cultural exchanges and collaborations.

Over the course of three days, Dubai Creek will serve as the vibrant backdrop for a myriad of artistic performances and collaborative endeavors. Renowned figures and performers from India, spanning academia, literature, music, and diplomacy, will converge with their Emirati counterparts to create a diverse tapestry of cultural expressions. Notable acts include performances by acclaimed bands like Indian Ocean, promising a fusion of traditional and contemporary sounds.

Teamwork Arts, the festival's organizing body, brings to the table a wealth of experience in curating cultural events on a global scale. With a track record of over three decades and a portfolio of successful festivals spanning numerous countries, Teamwork Arts aims to deepen the cultural connections between India and Dubai through 'India by the Creek'. Sanjoy K Roy, Managing Director of Teamwork Arts, envisions the festival as an annual highlight on Dubai's cultural calendar, offering a dynamic mix of activities, workshops, and performances for audiences of all ages to enjoy.

Ramesh Cidambi, COO of Dubai Duty Free, underscored the festival's significance in fostering cultural exchange and promoting India as a key market. As a sponsor of the event, Dubai Duty Free is committed to supporting initiatives that celebrate the convergence of Indian and Emirati cultures. Similarly, Ravi Menon, representing the festival's local partner, highlighted the collaborative efforts that have made 'India by the Creek' a reality, reflecting on the journey to bring this cultural extravaganza to fruition.
