DEWA’s continued sponsorship demonstrates its commitment to the Global Women’s Forum, which has grown into a powerful platform for exploring the contributions of women in various fields. Through open discussions, interactive workshops, and high-level meetings, the event aims to address the challenges women face worldwide. DEWA will have a notable presence during the Forum with its Future Stand, an event feature dedicated to hosting panel discussions that spotlight women’s contributions across multiple sectors. Additionally, DEWA will lead several sessions that underscore its efforts to create a gender-inclusive work environment and highlight the achievements of its female workforce.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, remarked on the importance of this strategic partnership, stating, “DEWA’s sponsorship of the Global Women's Forum for the third consecutive time reflects our deep commitment to supporting Dubai Women Establishment, led by Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of DWE and wife of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court. Through this collaboration, we aim to further enhance women’s leadership and professional development, as well as boost their participation in the comprehensive development of Dubai. Women are playing an increasingly vital role in shaping the economic and social future of our city, and we are proud to support their advancement.”
Al Tayer further emphasized DEWA's alignment with the UAE's leadership vision, adding, “Under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, DEWA is fully committed to empowering women and advancing their skills and capabilities. Our involvement in the Global Women's Forum is a testament to our efforts in promoting economic empowerment for women, especially in key sectors such as energy, clean energy, creativity, and innovation. At DEWA, we strive to create a supportive environment where female employees can thrive, unlocking their potential and building their confidence to contribute meaningfully to Dubai’s sustainability goals and the broader economy.”
Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Chairperson of the Board and Managing Director of DWE, praised the partnership between DWE and DEWA, calling it a reflection of the UAE’s dedication to empowering women on both the local and international stage. “This partnership embodies the UAE’s vision of becoming a global leader in supporting and advancing the role of women. DEWA’s participation in the Forum highlights its commitment to this cause and its ongoing efforts to ensure that women play a central role in shaping the future. By engaging leaders, officials, and experts from across the world in meaningful discussions, the Forum aims to foster positive change,” she said.
Al Marri also acknowledged DEWA's significant contributions to the UAE economy and its role in promoting sustainable energy. She highlighted the organization’s leadership in providing Emirati women with opportunities to excel in leadership, technical, and specialized roles. “DEWA has built an encouraging environment where women can balance their professional and personal lives, which is essential for achieving true gender equality,” she added.
DEWA’s involvement in the Global Women’s Forum – Dubai 2024 demonstrates its ongoing commitment to supporting national and international efforts to ensure the Forum’s success. Additionally, its support enhances the UAE’s reputation as a global leader in fostering discussions about the future of women’s roles in impactful partnerships across various fields.
The two-day Forum will feature a series of panel discussions and workshops focused on empowering women to make positive contributions across three key themes: ‘Future Economies, Future Societies,’ ‘Collective Engagements, Collective Actions,’ and ‘Impactful Technologies, Impactful Innovations.’ The event will also include high-level sessions designed to explore solutions for encouraging governments and global organizations to intensify efforts toward female empowerment. Participants will share insights on overcoming the challenges faced by women globally.
At the 2020 Global Women’s Forum, DEWA's "Future Stand" was a major highlight, hosting several of the event’s general sessions, as well as DEWA-specific sessions. One key session, titled ‘Future of Innovation in Energy,’ examined how women can foster innovation and how this mindset can be embedded as a workplace culture. The discussion revolved around clean energy innovation, Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, and AI applications in the solar energy sector, all contributing to Dubai's energy diversification. This session aligned with the UAE government’s broader vision of accelerating the transition to a knowledge-based economy.
At DEWA’s platform during the Forum, the theme “Sustainability and Innovation” took center stage, showcasing the expertise and achievements of DEWA’s female employees in areas such as future foresight and advanced technology. These discussions underscored DEWA’s ongoing role in supporting women and promoting sustainability through innovative practices in the energy sector.
As the countdown to the 2024 Global Women’s Forum begins, anticipation is building for yet another impactful event that will continue to advance the dialogue around women’s empowerment and leadership in the UAE and beyond.
