China unveils assault ship capable of launching fighter jets and operations

China has launched a powerful new ship called the Sichuan. This ship is special because it can carry and launch fighter jets. It is the first ship of its kind in China, called the 076-class, and it is the largest one yet. The ship is very big, weighing 40,000 tons. The Sichuan has two important jobs. It can carry soldiers and landing crafts to help in battles on land, and it can provide air support using fighter jets. The ship also has a special system called an arrestor, which helps fighter jets land safely on its deck after flying.

China’s navy, called the People’s Liberation Army Navy, has been improving its ships for many years.
