Dubai Design District (d3), a creative community managed by TECOM Group, recently celebrated its success in supporting Dubai's rise as a major global center for creativity and design. This year marks over ten years since d3 was launched, and it has grown into a hub for thousands of creative professionals and businesses.

At a special event called "Beyond a Decade of Design," d3 celebrated its role in making Dubai a top destination for design and creativity. The event was attended by leading industry experts, who gathered to discuss how d3 has helped shape the city's reputation in the global design world. During the event, d3 also shared news about its future growth plans. The district will soon expand by adding over 500,000 square feet of new space to meet the increasing demand from businesses in design, fashion, and other creative industries.

To mark this milestone, d3 launched the "d3 Design Award," a new prize that will be given each year to recognize outstanding creative talent in the region.

Khadija Al Bastaki, Senior Vice President of d3, shared how important the district has been for the city's growth. She said, "d3 was created to help regional designers make a big impact worldwide. Over the past decade, it has played a key role in strengthening Dubai's economy by encouraging creativity and innovation."

The district is now home to over 1,100 businesses and 20,000 creative professionals. In the future, the expansion will add six new office buildings and more amenities, making it an even more attractive place for global companies in the creative sector. This AED 825 million project will also include sports facilities, parking, dining options, and a beautiful new promenade.

d3 is committed to supporting new talent and has launched the d3 Design Award to recognize the best designers in the region. The first winner will be announced during Dubai Design Week in November. To celebrate its 10th anniversary, d3 will also release a special illustrated book that showcases some of the most inspiring Emirati designers and their work.

In addition to all these achievements, d3 is also home to three schools and hosts over 100 events each year, including important global events like Dubai Fashion Week and Dubai Design Week. The district also supports startups through in5 Design, a program for new businesses in the creative sector. Since it opened, d3 has helped more than 120 design startups grow.

Dubai Design District (d3) is part of TECOM Group, which also manages other business districts in Dubai, such as Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, and Dubai Knowledge Park, among others.
