Amos will begin his run on January 31 and hopes to set a Guinness World Record. He aims to complete the seven-emirates challenge in six days, running from Fujairah to the UAE-Saudi Arabia border.
Diabetes is a growing problem worldwide, and the UAE has a high number of people with the disease. The International Diabetes Federation says that 12.3% of adults in the UAE have diabetes. It is expected that more people will get the disease in the coming years, partly because of unhealthy lifestyles.
Amos wants to use his run to encourage people to be more active and take care of their health. "I hope to inspire others to exercise and live healthier lives," he said. "All the money raised will help pay for diabetes treatment."
Healthpoint and Mubadala Health Dubai are supporting Amos during his run. They will provide a team of medical experts to make sure he stays safe and healthy.
Dr. Hasan Baydoun, a doctor at Healthpoint, said, "This challenge helps raise awareness about diabetes and encourages people to stay healthy."
Amos is thankful for the help he is receiving from M42, who are making sure he stays safe while running. “I hope my run will inspire others to fight diabetes, which affects many people in the UAE,” he said.
Amos' run will take place over six days, covering the seven emirates: Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Ajman, Sharjah, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. He hopes that by raising awareness, people will be motivated to take care of their health and help those who need treatment for diabetes.
