Ashneer Grover Responds After Salman Khan Schools Him on Bigg Boss

New Delhi: The latest Bigg Boss 18 Weekend Ka Vaar episode showed a big argument between Bollywood actor Salman Khan and businessman Ashneer Grover. The fight started because Salman did not like some things Ashneer had said earlier.

Salman Khan called Ashneer out for his “doglapan,” which means "double standards." This word became popular after Ashneer used it on Shark Tank India in 2021. Salman told Ashneer, “I heard you talk about me. You said things like ‘We signed him for this much money’ but the numbers you gave were wrong. So, what about your double standards?”

Ashneer had earlier spoken about signing Salman for a brand deal. In those talks, Ashneer mentioned some numbers that Salman said were not true. Salman got upset and questioned Ashneer on the show.

In reply, Ashneer Grover wrote a long post on LinkedIn to explain himself. He said, “I hope you enjoyed the Bigg Boss Weekend Ka Vaar! I had fun, and I’m sure the episode got good views. All of my statements are true: Salman is a great actor and host. I’ve always praised him. I never said anything bad about him. The numbers I mentioned are correct and verified by my bank and auditors. I met Salman in May 2019 for a 3-hour meeting about a brand deal. Maybe he doesn’t remember me because I wasn’t famous then. The invitation to come on Bigg Boss was not ‘unnamed,’ just like the cheque for it. I also got a picture with Salman this time, which I didn’t before. Thanks to Salman Khan. Keep shining!”

To understand why the argument happened, we need to look at something Ashneer said in April 2022. During a talk with students at Lovely Professional University, Ashneer talked about signing Salman Khan for a brand deal. He said that Salman asked for ₹7.5 crore. When Ashneer tried to lower the price, Salman’s manager allegedly said, “Sir, are you here to buy vegetables? How much will you bargain?” Ashneer told this story, but Salman Khan on Bigg Boss said that the numbers Ashneer mentioned were wrong.

Ashneer admitted that his statement might not have come across well. But Salman replied, “The way you are talking now is not the same way you spoke before.”

Salman also said that he didn’t know Ashneer’s name before he came on Bigg Boss. “I just found out you were coming here. I didn’t know your name. I recognized your face from a video. You should be careful about how you present yourself,” Salman added.

They have had some issues in the past. Ashneer once talked about Salman’s "heropanti" after an incident where Salman’s manager told him not to take a picture with the actor, saying Salman was not comfortable.

But this time on Bigg Boss, Ashneer was able to take a picture with Salman Khan, showing that maybe things were getting better between them.

In the end, the fight between Salman Khan and Ashneer Grover made the Bigg Boss episode exciting, but both men cleared the air and made peace.
