Abu Dhabi has introduced its very first fully air-conditioned outdoor walkway, a project aimed at making life more comfortable for people in the city, especially during the hot summer months.
This walkway is located in the Al Nahyan area, near the Al Mamoura building. It comes with a unique cooling system that runs along the entire pathway, ensuring that the temperature stays at a comfortable 24°C all year long, no matter how hot it gets outside.

The initiative, launched by the Department of Municipalities and Transport, was created with the goal of providing a pleasant walking experience for both residents and visitors. This way, people can enjoy walking outside without feeling the heat, even during the peak summer months.
Besides offering a cool and comfortable environment, the walkway also features retail shops, cafés, and outdoor seating areas, making it a great place to relax or do some shopping. The design is clever, allowing sunlight to come through while keeping the air cool inside the walkway.
Another impressive feature of the walkway is its soundproof walls. These walls help block out the noise from the busy city, making the walkway a peaceful and quiet place for people to walk and enjoy the surroundings.
This air-conditioned walkway is the first step in Abu Dhabi's plan to use advanced technology in public spaces, making the city more modern and enjoyable for everyone.
