The Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility), part of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, has shared good news. They are growing their RoboTaxi service. They are working together with Autogo, a company that makes smart driverless cars. This project is also supported by Apollo Go, a company under Baidu from China, a big name in self-driving car technology.

This test is an important step before the service fully opens to everyone by 2026. It matches Abu Dhabi’s plan to build smart, fast, and easy transport systems. The goal is to make life better for people and help the city become more modern and digital.
The Integrated Transport Centre says the RoboTaxi service will follow the city’s rules, plans, and road needs. They want to bring new smart ideas into the city in a safe and organized way.
The RoboTaxi now uses the sixth version of its car, called RT6. This new car is electric and uses smart computer systems to drive safely. It can quickly notice what is happening on the road and act fast. These cars help cut down mistakes people make while driving. They are better for the planet too, as they make less pollution, reduce traffic jams, and help build smart cities of the future.
Dr. Abdulla AlGhfeli, Acting Director-General of the Integrated Transport Centre, said:
"Growing the RoboTaxi service is a big step towards smart travel. It fits with our dream to make travel better and life easier in Abu Dhabi. We want to use the best technology to make travel safe and smart and show the world Abu Dhabi’s great work."
He added that working with Autogo shows Abu Dhabi’s wish to always be ready for the newest travel ideas and make transport cleaner and better.
Sean Teo, General Manager of Kintsugi Holding, also said:
"Starting a new phase of RoboTaxi service is a big change for city travel. RoboTaxis are very important because they help make roads safer and travel greener. We are happy to help make this happen in the UAE."
This RoboTaxi project will slowly grow bigger by testing the cars in real life and listening to what people think. The goal is to make sure everything works well before it fully opens to everyone.
With this plan, Abu Dhabi moves closer to becoming a smart, green, and future-ready city.
