The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC) has formalized a partnership with the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies (KFCRIS) in Saudi Arabia, aimed at strengthening research cooperation and enhancing the exchange of expertise between the two institutions. This collaboration seeks to promote the Arabic language and safeguard Arab and Islamic cultural heritage through various joint activities.
The agreement was signed during the inauguration of the UNESCO Chair in Translating Cultures, established by the King Faisal Center with support from the Saudi Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission. The event was attended by notable figures, including Her Royal Highness Princess Maha bint Mohammed AlFaisal, Secretary-General of KFCRIS; His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Chairman of ALC; Mr. Ibrahim Aldeghaither, Assistant to the Secretary-General of KFCRIS; and Dr. Abdullah Hamidaddin, Assistant Secretary-General for Scientific Affairs at KFCRIS.
In her remarks, Princess Maha emphasized that this agreement marks a significant step forward for the KFCRIS in expanding knowledge and enriching cultural and intellectual discourse in the Arabic and Islamic worlds. She commended the research initiatives of the ALC and expressed optimism that this partnership would lead to a fruitful synergy, leveraging the strengths and expertise of both institutions to enhance research activities that promote Arabic culture and language.

Dr. Ali bin Tamim also highlighted the importance of this partnership, stating that it aligns with the ALC’s mission to support the scientific research community and foster cultural exchange. He noted that this collaboration represents a vital step towards enriching Arab cultural and intellectual content and encouraging inter-civilizational dialogue.
"This partnership with a prestigious institution like the King Faisal Center provides an invaluable opportunity for researchers and cultural organizations to tap into the wealth of knowledge and expertise available," Dr. Tamim stated. He added that the agreement would facilitate the development of new research projects, elevate educational standards in the region, and support translation initiatives that preserve cultural heritage.
The agreement outlines several key areas of collaboration, including promoting research cooperation between KFCRIS, ALC, and the UNESCO Chair. It also emphasizes joint participation in conferences, seminars, and workshops, as well as efforts to compete for annual awards and grants offered by ALC.
Furthermore, both parties are committed to enhancing publishing and translation efforts, particularly concerning research topics related to the UNESCO Chair. The agreement includes plans to increase contributions to peer-reviewed international journals and to facilitate the exchange of scholars and experts through various fellowship programs.
This partnership represents a forward-thinking approach to preserving and promoting Arab cultural identity, ensuring that its unique heritage is passed down to future generations while fostering an environment of knowledge and collaboration.
